After another epic-long labor, Eliza came bursting into the world, sunny-side up, on Monday evening. My water broke on Saturday night around 10:30pm, I had a bunch of contractions and was thinking this one was gonna be fast and furious, but to no avail...things sputtered out by morning. Robert and I spent most of Sunday walking, napping, and trying a few labor-induction techniques...again to no avail. So after 2 long nights of no sleep, Monday morning we took our time, went and got an adjustment from our favorite Chiropractor, and then checked in at the hospital to get everything checked out and make sure everyone was healthy. While being monitored, my Midwife suggested a prostaglandin cream, so we thought we'd give it a try. They applied the cream, and stuck me on the monitors to watch the baby for a couple of hours - I watched Law and Order, texted with my sister, and was starting to get bored and uncomfortable from laying on the lovely hospital bed, so Robert got the nurse to cut me loose. I got up and within a minute or two I was having some decent contractions...and a few minutes later was having some MAJOR ones, and 44 minutes after that, Eliza was laying on my belly, flailing around, and apparantly as annoyed by the nurses as I was. Why didnt we try this earlier!?! We left the hospital 4 hours later and were home and slept all night with just an hour feeding to break it up. So far she's a very mellow baby, loves hanging with her Daddy (he's warm and bouncy...good traits in a Daddy it seems) - which is also why Im able to type blog entry up. =) Welcome to our Family Eliza Leigh!

First to say congratulations on the blog post, so soon after Eliza came out! She is so gorgeous and I'm happy we got another healthy little girl in the family! Enjoy!
This is a great way to share details. Love the story. It sounds like you weathered it alright. Be sure to take those naps. You'll probably have to remind the big girls that this sister is not a toy. I can imagine Emma will want to be a little Mommy herself. You will have much fun and have great stories to share on your blog through the months. May God give you and Robert the needed wisdom to raise these 3 little treasures. Congratulations to you all. nmj
...FAVORITE chiropractor!?!?? :) I suppose...you can count on dad not reading this post, huh?? Can't wait to give baby her first adjustment...and you too! Hopefully I'm better tomorrow so I can!!
Thank you for this, Cheryl!! You're awesome.
Glad that you all are well and happy. We love you all so much. Hugs to you and Robert and your three blessings.
Congratulations again!
